Bumping this to the top to try to get a few more of you entrenched central Florida folk out of your caves for a while. lol!
Anyone else who wants to join us for this meet and cruise, please chime in here.
This should be an enjoyable day, what else are you going to do this Saturday?
Come on out!

Saturday's weather is looking fine! Low 80's breezy with plenty of sun. I think the rain will hold off until that night according to the forecast.
If you are using GPS to locate our start/meeting place, use the following address:
3400 US Highway 98 N, Lakeland, FL
I will be starting things out at noon with a meet-up and greet/photo session/pre-cruise chat. We should be ready to hit the road for our cruise at about 1:00 or earlier depending on when everybody arrives. I don't want anybody to feel rushed so we have a leisurely schedule.
The route I have planned takes about an hour to cover 40 miles of mostly rural Polk County with a few miles of necessary in town driving. I plan to follow the local speed limits and hopefully nobody gets left behind at a traffic light. I will have a map of the route for each car available that day. Our destination is a beautiful park in downtown Lakeland and lunch at the Garden Bistro restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. I will post a scan of the menu later today.
Looking foward to meeting all of you on Saturday!

I'm canceling too, but due to weather. I probably have the longest drive of the bunch 2-1/2 hours, and our weather forecast calls for thundershowers. No sense driving in all that rain and showing up in a sled covered in road grime.
I'll attend future events in the area, so keep me in mind.
I hope you guys and gals have fun!

Bumping this up for any last minute attendees.
Come on out folks! It will be fun to get together with some Jagophiles!
What else are you going to do today? This will be fun.
My XJR is all shined up and ready to go. See y'all in Lakeland!

Good morning all!
Pretty good storm here around 6:30am, but quiet now. Looks like the next real rain isn't forecast until later in the afternoon, so we are giving a thumbs up to still going. I will have a limited number (as in 6 - lol) of small souvenirs as a perk for your efforts! We look forward to meeting some fellow jag lovers.

The weather held off nicely for us. It was a bit humid for my tastes, but the clouds kept the sun from baking us as well. Vector joined CountryCat and myself at the parking area at noon and the group set about checking each other's cars out. We exchanged stories of how we came to be Jag aficionados.
After waiting about a half an hour to see if any stagglers might show up, we decided to hit the road. I gave a short breifing on the route, we traded cell phone numbers and started the cruise. Vector's wife was the designated photographer, but I think we all got a few good shots in.
I pulled over about halfway through the route so we could get a few more photos and stretch the legs. Ten minutes later we were off again and on our way. Traffic was very minimal and we cruised nicely along.
At our destination, we chose inside seating at the Garden Bistro due to the rising temp and humidity level. It is a quaint little place hidden in the rear of the Magnolia Building at Lake Mirror park. The food was good and we enjoyed the company. True to his word, CountryCat rewarded us with some Jaguar themed gifts. Thank you!
After lunch, we moved next door to visit the Hollis formal gardens. They managed to have quite a few flowers in the ground already and the place looked better than expected after a long winter. We said our farewells and headed back to our homes richer for the friendship and comradery thet was formed. I am looking forward to our next outing and hopefully our group will grow.

Great pictures of our meet! Sorry everyone wasn't able to make it - but we would definitely participate again in the future. The fellowship and food were very nice, and the relaxing drive through the countryside was perfect. The gardens were a nice bonus - a beautiful setting on the lake.
Thanks again to Cat Man Do for setting everything up - and Vector, looking forward to those strawberry shakes!
Look forward to seeing the rest of the photos.

What gorgeous Jags - so sorry I missed it. Going to have to talk hubby into taking me to the gardens for lunch next weekend, that's a local treasure I didn't know existed. Hope to attend the next event (bring a strawberry shake for me!!).
Aghhhh!!! Missed it...Graham had encouraged me to go and I did not realize that it was so soon. I recently joined the forums.
Please keep me in the loop if there is another meet for Central Florida. I'm based out of Tampa and would really enjoy hanging out with other Jag fans.
