Hello all!!!! I need some help. Please! I have a 2000 Jaguar S-Type 3.0. When I start it up when it's cool out the car wants to idle rough like it's going to stall. I had the codes checked out but nothing came up. Thanks!!!

Hey! Well some more info would be nice but with what u tell me:

Clean the throttle body, is it really dirty?
While you are at it check your air filter

Hartley, what part of VA are you in? I am in Southern Maryland, about an hour or so over the 301 bridge from Dahlgren. I am down near California, MD (yes, it is a town here, not the state of Cali).

But, based on what you are describing, your problem lies with the throttlebody or the MAF sensor. I would get a can of MAF sensor cleaner and a can of Throttlebody cleaner (NOT!!!!!!! carb cleaner). Pull the MAF sensor out of the intake, squirt some cleaner in it, let it set for a moment, dump out the cleaner then give it another good squirt and dump that out. Then for the throttlebody, pull the intake off of the throttlebody, use 1 finger to open the throttlebody butterfly valve and if you see brown, squirt it away. Pay special attention to get the edge of the butterfly valve as that is where the tolerances are the most precise and any gum there can lead to a sticky throttle. Also look and you should see a small hole on the side where you pulled the intake off of. Make sure to squirt down into that hole too. When you go to start the car, it will probably fight to start as you have essentially flooded the car. Crank it a little bit longer and the car will finally start. You can also press the gas pedal to the floor when starting. This will actually prevent the fuel injectors from firing (adding more fuel to the flooded engine) and help the engine start sooner. This may also cause a code to pop up. Do not worry about that code. After a few more drives of the car, the code will clear itself. If you are truely worried, you can momentarily disconnect the battery lead off of the car and it will reset the computer.

Sorry!! My power went out! I live in Middletown, VA. I did take off the intake off and replace three starter coils they where (AC Coils). When I put it back together it ran bad it like a vac line is broke some were. The breaks are hard to push in. I got some codes PO133,PO153,PO102,PO112,&P1573. I got a upper intake gasket on order to do it again. Thanks

2000 Jaguar S-Type 3.0 I took it to the garge and they did a smoke test but it didn't acked up for them. Sometime the car will start right up and sometime it will crank over then start. Went out to start it today It truns over but will not start like it not getting gas. I gest I'll have it tow to a shop.

A update! The fuel pump wiring had a short cause the fuel pump to go bad!

Hey guys happy New Years in advance tho it's not new years here in Canada yet anyways my car been running like shit and misfiring and now making this weird sound from intake manifold no codes or anything no power either in the car there's this weird rattle noise from any kind of pulley too it's not the timing chain I've already checked that.
