Jaguar of Troy, MI

I'm picking up a 2010 XK Convertible from Jaguar of Troy on Monday, 3/11.

Any comments about this dealer? It's part of a large group of dealers...the price was right and I got CPO added to the car.

Thanks...

Hi dlcole76054:
Can't help you with the dealer, but can help you with the enthusiasm. Welcome aboard, and let us know how the pick-up goes. What an amazing car you're getting. Congratulations and share pictures when you get the chance!
Cheers,
Scott

I've had very good dealings with that dealership. I normally get parts from them but when I was searching for my car they made every effort to help me out. I would deal with them if I had the chance.

I had them do the body work on my XK when I was hit in Detroit. They took longer than expected and the repair still isn't perfect. However, the people were responsive and nice to deal with.

I think I saw that XK advertised in their email list. Nice purchase! The same owners own all 3 jag dealerships in SE Michigan, so you will deal with the same people regardless.

Congrats on a WONDERFUL car!

Jaguar of Troy

I've purchased 2 new Jags from Jaguar of Troy and I was very happy with the experience. My problem is with the service department.
I took my wife's 2007 X-Type in last week because of a noise coming from the transfer case (common problem with X-Type's sealed transfer case). The service department diagnosed the the problem as a deteriorating drive shaft and assured me that was the problem because they could hear metal rattling around with a stethoscope? I was happy that it wasn't the transfer case, $800 repair versus $3500 repair. After a new drive shaft was installed I received a call from the service department informing me that the noise was still there and of course I needed a new transfer case! I refused to pay for the new drive shaft so they put the old one back in. Despite their mistake and my additional inconvenience at having to return to the dealership several times, their attitude (since they put the old drive drive shaft back in) was "no harm-no foul". I asked for a courtesy discount on the transfer case repair and was offered 10% off on parts, a $207 off on a $3500 repair. I've since had the X-Type repaired at an indy for considerably less money. Obviously I will no longer be a customer of any of the Elder family's Jaguar dealerships (they own 3) in Michigan. My wife has owned 3 Jaguars and I have owned 1 and this will probably be the last. It's disappointing that the transfer case would fail at 60,000 miles and it's disappointing that a trained Jaguar technician would miss this.
