OK, there are lots of members in the NW US and SW of Canada here now - how many of you/us will be at Jaguars on the Island in Victoria BC (July 25-27?) - this is the largest Jaguar show in North America. Details at Jaguar Car Club of Victoria - HOME . If you haven't been to Victoria yet,...
We also need our Annual St Helens Drive on the calender. I would like to see a mid month date, so can i get feedback on 12-13,19-20th preferences? |
I would be interested in either one of those two weekends
|
Is this the St. Helens drive?
I can do either 19-20 or 26-27, it looks like. Ken |
I stay off the road Independence Day weekend, so not the 5th-6th. I think I can make the 12th-13th. I cannot do the 19th-20th. nor Sun. the 27th, but am probably OK Sat. the 26th. I hope I don't have to miss this 2 years in a row after participating in the inaugural in 2012 (on the infamous "goat track!").

In truth, this is the 3rd Annual St Helens Drive, of which you and I have judiciously attended the first two! This year is the eastern (Windy Ridge) entrance. Can't promise no goat paths on this one either as I cater to the majority..... (Which when it comes to Jag owners will probably mean no goat paths..... sigh...) The route will begin early in Enumclaw, and traverse Cayuse Pass (410/123) to Hwy 12. We will head into the mountain at Randle, where I would hope to pick up any folk coming up from the Portland area. Vince |
Bump.....nice one Vince, hope you get some good numbers
If you want any help in promoting this, I'd be happy to help, please let me know. Best Jim |
You guys gotta quit with the annual drives. I can only make so many stickers!
|
Sorry Muddy, you set the precedent with the Leavenworth event, so we gotta ding ya for that one! Do you have a date preference for St Helens??
So far we are tied out at 2 yea's each! July 12th-13th x2 July 19th-20th x2 July 26th-27th x2 Appreciate the help Jim.... I need a date, and I may try for the banner if it is available.... If I can just lock this down a tad.... V |
So here is a rough itinerary, leading to one question about departure time from Enumclaw. 8AM or 9AM?
A 8AM departure (folks tend to get a tad grumpy) puts lunch closer to noon, and a parting dinner around 5:30. I feel 8AM works the clock better, but I will defer to the majority. Thoughts? |
I'll be there whatever time is decided, but can't help but ask why when we start from Monroe, Lynnwood, Kingston, or other somewhat northern locations it is usually 9AM, but when it is way the xxxx south like Enumclaw or Tacoma it's 8. Makes for a killer day when you have to start driving by 6AM or earlier.
Yeah, I was there last year, guess I was thinking of a different drive I had to miss. Every drive is good, love them all. I will have the Jag with me in Yakima the 18th-20th for meetings I have to attend. I should be done there about noon Sunday, so if the majority votes for that day I may be able to meet you for the drive home from Mt. St. Helens. Would prefer the 12th, 13th, or 26th. |

Also 9AM in Monroe put us in Leavenworth at noon, and eating dinner at XXX by 6 or 7 in Issiquah. 8AM in Tacoma put us in Long Beach (and Astoria the year before) at 12:30 If others want a 9AM launch for a 1PM lunch and 6:30 Dinner then by all means say so! I'll do it! I want the group as a whole to have a great day! Vince |
I'm always up for a later start, even if that means a later lunch.

Just began ownership of a 1988 XJS H & E V-12 Lister 62,000 miles on it. I am not real good with etequite, so correct me if necessary. The vehicleis beautiful, but has fuel tank vent problems, anyone know the best dealership to have this remedied, as I understand it to be a recall without owner or mileage/time limitations?

I hear good about Park Place... Anyone else got tips for Bobby? Vince Dont forget to check out the section dedicate to your model car as well.... You will find lots of good folk there with serious knowlege on DIY stuff! |
Thanks Clever, the fuel vent issue has never been fully grasped by Jag unfortunately. Looking forward to Jaguar groups.

Your Cat will be purring soon! |
Still leaning towards Saturday the 26th.....
9AM departure (until the majority demands otherwise).... Lets see some Jags on the mountain! Speak up if your interested in gathering with fellow owners for a fun filled day! Vince |
Road 25 has just opened. Road 99 still closed and under deep snow, but in another month probably good to go. Looking forward to it. Need to buy my pass still.
|
So I have now been asked "How many of you are coming to Victoria on the weekend of July 25-27 for Jaguars on the Island? largest Jaguar show in North America details at www.jaguarcarclub.ca
Well worth the drive in a Jaguar!" Any of you heading north for that? V |
I would love to attend all of the events proposed, but I'm from south west Oregon, and it's a long haul just to get there & back. Are there any cruises that come further south?
|
Nephews wedding
Victoria sounds like a ton of fun, but the Nephew is getting married to the love of his life on the 26th in Spokane, can't miis it. Enjoy guys.
|
I can make the 19th-20th
|
So welcome all to JULY!
Still looking for a large gathering of Jags for a scenic drive to Eastern Mt. St. Helens. I had hoped we would see our northern brethren make the drive, but if it conflicts with Jags on the Island, then I can't see that happening. This is also one of the few drives that our northern Oregon friends can consider.(Meet at Randle WA) Perhaps the focus should shift back to the 19th -20th? (snow levels permitting) or out to August? Participation this year has been lacking, and St helens promises to be a yearly repeat drive unless we allow it to fail. The more members that attend also encourage newer members to check it out as well! We should easily have 8 Cats (plus) if we get the wrinkles ironed out, so everyone Speak Up! July 12th-13th x3 (Richard,Swim) July 19th-20th x4 (Richard, Ken, Erronsam) July 26th-27th x3 (Swim[26th], Ken, Muddy[27th]) Vince |
Update: Windy Ridge is now open....
|
Down to two dates....
20th (Clever, Richard, Ken, Erronsam) 26th (Swim, Ken) Not feeling and Jag love on this so far.... |
Wow... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/imag...1387914497.gif
Come folks... throw me a bone... |
OK, so the St Helen trip is postponed to August for lack of interest in July unles someone else wants to carry the ball.
Lets talk about coffee and a visit to ABFM in Kenmore on the 26th... Can we set a meeting point... and go to ABFM as a group? V |
What is the cost?

...And lots of walking.... Food venders will be there as well |
So $10 per car to look at the other cars, or $35 per car to enter and be looked at? If we go as a group wouldn't we enter?

Vince,
Sorry I haven't chimed in so far, but my work has me out of town a lot, and now my Jag has an intermittent primary fuel pump. I'm too nervous about a long drive out of the country until I get those changed out. First of course, my son's Jag is taking up the garage space, waiting on me to replace the timing chain tensioners. I will be good for an August trip, if the Jaguar Gods are willing.............. |

So lets cast this in stone.
Saturday July 26th. Meet for lunch at BJ's, Redmond Town Center, then a 30 minute drive to St Edwards State park for ABFM. You also have the option to taking in the exotics car show before lunch, but be aware some will already be pulling out by 11:00. I'm going.... Who else? |
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:56 AM. |
