Hi Jag enthusiasts (and especially F-Type owners),

I’ve decided to embark on a journey to do my own repair and maintenance work on my 2015 F-Type R.

I’ve downloaded the shop manual from another thread (many thanks to those users who shared them out on Dropbox!) and am acquiring the necessary tools to do the work myself.

A little background about me: I’m a software engineer, so about the only thing I’ve done in the past is change the oil in my cars.

I wonder if there are other DIYers in the SF Bay Area who want to join me when making repairs on my AJ133 engine to gain experience. Then when you need to repair your engine, I can join you to gain the experience. When we get stuck as a group, then we hire an expert auto-mechanic in the area to get unstuck. (My F-Type is not a daily drive, so I can let it sit for weeks if inoperable.)

Anyone in the area interested?

My first task is to replace the coolant hose (aka “overflow hose” or “air bleed hose”) that runs from the expansion tank to the engine.

I’m in the North Bay in Marin County. It’s a pretty far drive from the South Bay, but worth it for any knowledge I’d gain.
