2003 X-Type indoor air sensor wont turn off. What do I do?
 

My indoor air sensor (1X4H-19C734-AA) for auto air conditioning does not turn off after the car shuts off and drains my battery. Where may the root of this problem lie?

KXUNA, if you look at the sensor, it will have a white/red lead and a black/white lead. The white/red lead is where power comes in and the black/white lead is switched by the A/C control module. So, odds are, what you will need to do is disconnect the plug from the A/C control module and see if the fan continues to run. If it don't, then you are looking at a bad A/C control module. If the fan continues to run, then you have a wiring problem.

To solve the problem temporarily I already disconnect it from its first wire connection on the wiring harness just like shown in your pics but obviously if I disconnect it from the power source entirely it won't run.

Is the A/C control module juncture more towards the back of the AC unit where it will still have a power source and try the wiring test?

The AC/heater seems to work fine with out the part but probably is not reading the indoor temp.

Are you certain it is running? all the time?
the little fan runs for a few minutes after switching the car off, and then re-starts when you open the door.

Unless you sit in the car for a while after the key is off, (maybe even door needs to open and close) the fan will always be running whenever you are in the car.

have you hooked up an amp meter in series with the main battery post, and pulled fuses one by one until you find the offending circuit? There is a very systematic way to trouble shoot a current drain on the car. Make no assumptoins.
