Default How the tc scoop works?

As I gathered from pics in the internet, the scoop actually channels air to the top of the tc. I thought It enclosed the fins!

I find that a bit counterintuitive.

Hmmm I think the jag is going up on axle stands tonight and I will be staring at that tc the whole evening!

Rogelio, you have to think about it this way. Instead of just having the air slide by the under side of the transfer case, but directing some of the up, you are going to get some air blowing across the fins, across the top of the transfer case and then back down while the air that missed the scoop is going to get sucked up (the scoop will create a low pressure area behind it) and this will still allow for a fair amount of air to blow on the underside too. By having the air moving over both the top and bottom, you get maximum cooling.
