Default ignition off a/c not available

So my car was running fine all day. I got in and started it to leave the store and my a/c was on. I went to turn it off, and hit the climate button, and i got a display message "ignition off, A/C not available". I turned the car off and back on and had no problem... anyone ever experience this?

That can happen if one of the ignition relays is starting to give you trouble. It's the same thing you will see if the climate screen is up and the ignition is in position 1 [accessory]. If an ignition on circuit isn't powered up right it thinks it's in accessory. I've also seen it if an entertainment module has failed, but that usually means the screen will never power up right.

Cheers,

Well, there really isn't much you can do, unless it becomes more consistent so it could be traced. Something that only happens once in a while is pretty hard to track down.

Not much help, I know, but that's the truth of it.

Cheers,

I have this message come up every time key is in position 1. I have cleared all the codes from all modules and still the same. Now what shall I check?

Default Resolved.

This message only pops up when a/c screen was last screen used before turning off ignition!!
I thought I had a power drain problem but seeing this sign was coincidental due to me working on the a/c a lot and an old battery!
New battery. No “drain”!
