Just Bought: Used 2002 Jaguar X Type 6 cylinder REAR CATALYTIC CONVERTER
I just bought a new project car.
I know that I will be needing to replace the rear catalytic converter...... Any advice and leads to this job? I can turn a wrench, have been for many years, and I am getting factory repair manual thanks for any advice, and How about Tune Up advice too thanks kind regards thomas.wine@gmail.com |
I just had both cats replaced on my 2002. The fact that the front sub-frame has to be dropped to gain access to the rear cat led me to having this done by a mechanic (yeah, I know I am a lightweight). See my related post in this forum - https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...erters-193511/
While you are in there, you might consider replacing the plugs and coils (rear 3 at least - I did all 6) along with the upper and lower manifold gaskets and throttle body gasket. I suspect that problems with the coils/plugs in large measure led to the cat failure in the first place - but I bought the car knowing there were cat problems.... |
