About 9 months ago I had the compressor and Receiver-dryer replaced to repair the AC system. It was not cooling again a few weeks ago so I took it to a friend (certified Jaguar Mechanic, didn't realize he was certified in AC!) to check it out. He added a dye to check for leaks. He found a crack in the metal line near the high pressure schrader valve which he said was very unusual. He ordered the complete high line and after 3 times of Jaguar sending the wrong one he finally got the correct one. To replace it he needed to remove the right front tire, wheel well cover, undertray and front bumper! Then he discovered another leak in the low pressure line at a coupling where a metal line is attached to a rubber line. He ordered that line and got the correct one first time. I can't imagine what the cost to do this would have cost me if I took it to the local Jag dealer to have it done. Labor alone would have been over a grand!! He charged me $200 labor and still waiting for the bill for the parts. So now I guess I have an almost new AC system replacement.

 

Lucky you have a friend was Jag. certified mech.and AC, don't make him mad, take him out for dinner once a while.
