You will likely get more response if you post the question here

We don't have the side markers in the UK so unable to provide an answer

New owner of a stellar 2006 X (Radiance {chb} paint), Nav, Sunroof, after market blue lighting strip above grill that is cool as heck at night. Found some really helpful info thus far on forum posts, much appreciated!

New challenge = front side marker lights do not function, removed rear bulbs that work (1 needed replaced so I know it's correct bulb), tried in front = nada. Any thoughts?

Trace the wiring and connectors.

Wiring for the side marker lights (also fog lights) runs along the lower portion of the front bumper. Raise front end of car and remove the splash shield to get access to the wiring. You'll need a multimeter to troubleshoot. By the way, are fog lights working?

Dell Gailey 03-11-2017 04:09 PM

Yes, all lights work including front and back fog lights, low beams, regular secondary beams and high beam halogens, back (red) side markers. Just the front (yellow cover) side markers do not. And btw, getting them out of the smaller than electrical plug hole in the fender, is an exercise in puzzle development, lol.

The side marker lights are spring-loaded forward. To remove them get a plastic trim tool and push light to rear, then rotate forward edge out when groove clears fender edge. Picture is of right front side marker light. You'll see the spring clip at rear of the housing. Hope this helps.

Yeah, the rear ones pop right out, but the front ones are a bugger. The black plug is just a LITTLE bit larger than the opening in the fender. Quite a job to get it through the hole without bending the metal or having it pop off in spite of the holding clip and falling into the fender (did that once, fished it back up with a coat hanger).

Okey dokey all. Ready for a good chuckle? The "non working" amber side lights were THE FRONT SIDE TURN indicator lights. DOH!! All is well.

Ah, the side repeaters. We all live and learn!
