Default P0171, 174 & Propane & a new 1796

Hi all,
I'm not sure if I should continue with my first thread/post or start anew. I apologize in advance.

I just tried using propane to find a vacuum leak & found none. The vacuum hoses and the accordion hose all look good & nothing happened when I used some propane to listen for a change.

I tried to clear the CEL by removing a battery cable. I probably didn't have it off long enough. I bought a cheap code reader off of Amazon & had to return it as it wouldn't clear the faults. Now that might of been related to my almost 10 year old battery. I had a DSC fault and that message is gone since the new battery was replaced.

The CEL went off on it's own yesterday. But after reading here about the DSC fault, I wen to Advance Auto and the battery failed. A new one installed and the DSC fault message was gone.

The 1796 is a new & I also have a P1111.

For future reference.

P1111 just indicates testing is complete.

1796 I have no idea.
