Default Passengers don't unlock on hot days

Hi,

can anyone help. I have a 2008 X-type 2.2 SE and on hot days only the front and rear passenger doors will not unlock. I can hear the mechanism move but cannot even open the doors from the inside. oddly the drivers door and boot will always open. Of course, in the time it takes me to drive to the Jag dealer the problem resolves itself and they only want to run a diagnostic and charge me £200 before saying there is nothing wrong according to the diagnostic. So, to help me educate these dealer engineers who can't seem to work things out without a computer print out of the exact problem, to clarify:
1) Front AND rear PASSENGER doors only. Never drivers door or boot.
2) Only on hot days, especially when parked in the sun.
3) Self resolves as it cools down.
4) If I park half-in and half-out of sun, it still happens to all three doors.

Surely, there must be enough clues here. which part of the central locking system is connected to all three doors (and not each of them), is susceptible to heat expansion and would not flag a result on the diagnostic? A link to a schematic would also be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Duncan

Do you hear the PASSENGER doors unlocking, or just the driver door?

Are the lock/unlock levers moving?

On the driver's door, while in the car but BEFORE starting it, work the lock actuator. Do the other doors unlock?

Work that actuator back and forth a few times, to clean the switch contacts.

Are you using the fob? Also work the key lock a few times.

I'm figuring that it has something to do with the unlock-driver-only function. On mine, using the key, one twist unlocks the driver door, it takes a second twist to unlock the other doors.
