i have a jaguar XE 2017 163bhp.
this is a single exhaust with the exhaust tail pipe underneath the left hand side of the car.
My question is recently i have been hearing an annoying rattle and after getting the car up on the ramp , it turns out the middle box near the front of the car , when to tap it sounds like a piggy bank!
i have been to the relevant exhaust places to get a replacement but it doesn't come up on there system, so i contacted jaguar and asked them for a price as it seems to be main dealer only, only to be shocked with £1250+ VAT i don't think its the CAT although i could be wrong but even so that's extreme.
the car runs like a watch no blowing on the exhaust , with great fuel return , just an annoying rattle on tick over, any suggestions? apart from turn the radio up lol.

 

Here in the states any muffler shop can do the job or any mechanic shops. Shop around in your area.
