Default Battery questions - 2017 xf

So this my first Jaguar (and first post) after 9 M-Bs and I have a few questions re vehicle storage as I am going away for a few months.
1) Is there one battery or two? Often vehicles have one for starting and one for accessories.
2) Battery location(s)?
3) I have a CTEK smart trickle charger but the manual says the battery has to be removed for charging. Is ok to use and leave in vehicle?
4) Which battery gets charged if there are two? With Mercedes, it is the accessory battery.

Thanks in advance.

Your year has one battery in the trunk (other than alarm battery, not chargeable). CTEK will work fine and you don't need to remove the battery. You can charge it from the posts under the hood for jump starting and run the wire between the cowl and hood.

Must have been an SL/some S class owner. Most Benz have systems battery and backup for Start/Stop or ISM motor where as SL has starter battery and systems battery.

Yes, you are correct. I have an SL550 but there is also an auxiliary battery in my ML350.

Yes the early Jaguar start stop systems used a separate battery. Then they went to a big capacitor set up and removed the second auxiliary battery.
