Potential damage from prolonged high-rpm driving in manual mode.
Hi folks,
I have a XF 2024 P300 (bought it new). Quick question for all of you Jag lovers that know more about mechanic parts of a car (and maybe the engine part). My question is about the way I drive the car. Sometimes, when I like to hear my engine "roar", I use manual gears to gear down (obviously in the S mode), and stay in that gear for some time while the RPM is on 4 or 5 (or even higher) and I keep it like that for some time. So, the engine is roaring for sooooome time! It begs me to gear up, but I don't!!! Eventually, I cave in and gear up. Just wanted to say that.
I hope I painted the picture good enough! So, with that in mind, does this thing that I am doing "hurt" the engine or any parts of my car? Will it lead to decreasing the longevity of my vehicle's lifetime? Will it make my car be damaged severely? (Again, I am not a mechanic)
I really want to keep the current experience that I have with my car the same. Meaning that I don't want the quality of my ride change for the next 5-10 years. The car is amazing! And, I intend to keep it that way.
I will post this message on both the UK's and the USA's forums hoping to reach broader audiences. Please don't get offended by doing it.
Thank you all!

Yes.
If you are a mechanic, yes you can drive it like you stole it. If the engine breaks.............then fix it or have it fixed.
If you can't, don't sell it and pass the problem to the next owner.
