Hi XF people. I’m normally over on the X300 section, but trying to help someone with their X250 (RHD 2012 3.0 Diesel).
Problem we’re chasing is Blind Spot Monitor fault on LH side (passenger) (DTC B11C915). We know what the problem is but not where! For the System Status LED we have power output at the module behind the bumper, but it doesn’t get as far as the LED unit in the mirror. So looking for failed connector or broken wire.
Have checked the Mirror to door harness connector behind the door panel and that looks good.
I have limited electrical documentation for this car but what I have shows a connector called C3B-A that connects the door harness to the main harness to the rear. I think it’s somewhere around the A post under the glovebox.
I want to check that next but I can’t find it as I don’t know what it looks like. There’s a lot of stuff around there. If anyone knows what colour the connector is and how many pins that would really help – or a picture would be dreamy. Or if there is a Connector reference document somewhere that would be even better.
Thanks in advance if you can help. I’ll post a solution to the problem when (if) I find it.
Thank you @prolepsis With that information I was able to find the connector.
We've fixed the issue now with the Blind Spot Monitor. Finding this connector was crucial as I could confirm power there for the warning LED from the module, but no power at the actual mirror. I was able to thread a new cable through the door grommet and splice into the loom and that fixed the problem.
For anyone looking for the connector in the future, it's actually hidden inside a cavity in the body frame just forward of the A post. There's a thin foam/plastic cover over the cavity that needs to be peeled back. There's enough slack in the cables to pull it out and get some test leads on it.
