Bought an XF yesterday!
Hi gang,
I just bought my first Jaguar yesterday. A Botanical Green 2009 XF Supercharged. Barley interior. I have been in love with this car for years and finally had the opportunity to purchase one. It has 39k miles but is in incredible shape...for the most part. And that is the real reason for this post..... When I depress and release the brake it makes a very distinctive sound. It sounds like a spring being stretch and released or like someone flick a spring with a finger. It didn't do it during the test drive or the first day but just started. I can take it in to get fixed for free but I am hoping to avoid the hastle and just fix it myself...has anyone encountered this? Jag Noob Aron |
I'd check the brake pedal return spring in the pedal housing. Maybe snagging on something, twisting or similar. Haven't looked up into the XF pedal housing but had a similar issue on an XJ-S.

Congrats on the purchase, I am about to make a similar one shortly (same colors/trim, 2010). How are you liking the car? Did you get this resolved, and what was the fix? Thanks!

Hello all,
Newbie to forum, I also thinking of a Jag purchase but not sure of what to get or good vs bad with my decision. 2009 XF superchaged or do i go with 2010 XFR. any help would be appreciated. Im trying to learn as much as possible before i decide. |
XFR is the one to buy if you are looking at the supercharged cars.
Standard 5.0 V8 is also pretty quick. The 4.2 supercharged isn't a lot quicker than the 5.0 normally aspirated. |
