Car feels like it's got bent wheels....but gets worse after driving.
Evening all,
Anyone able to advise? I've got what I can only describe as a possible bent wheel, basically when rolling I can feel it, it's like I'm driving over a washboard and seems to be speed related.
however if this what just a bent wheel it would in my mind remain constant. However I thought I was going mad, went out just now and could feel it but it was very slight, after a few miles it got worse and I can feel the whole car bumping and it's now uncomfortable to drive. It did this yesterday, as I say it's strange as it's fine when I first set off but gets worse after a few hours then back to normal when left for a bit.
Any ideas??

Agree with you there, I'm planning to look myself tomorrow but the fact It comes and goes as the car warms up and cools down makes me think it's not a bent wheel, I'd expect that to be a constant bump. Not one that start off hardly noticeable and gets to the point you can feel the whole car bump as you roll forward at 10mph
I agree but sometimes it just not obvious?
On my old 2005 S-Type I did a rim trade in and my old trade in rims had to be in good shape for me to get the trade in credit. After they received the rims I was told 3 out of the 4 were bent and would require addition repair (On my dime of course!) before I got any credit. Now the car seemed to drive fine and I had no idea anything was bent?
I don't know if they have them in the UK but I am a BIG fan of the Hunter Road Force balancing system. That's all I will use if possible.

Thanks all, IT was indeed the tyre, seems it had two big bulges on the sidewall on the inside edge. As soon as I took it off I see them. Gotta love 20" wheels and thin tyres on our potholed UK roads.
Yep the only thing I dislike about my jag is the 20" wheels and rubber-band tyres, I spend much of my driving time worrying about potholes. I stuffed a front and rear tyre on one hole a year or so back, near new tyres. $1100 down the drain. The front one was lumpy by the time I got home, the aneurysm on the rear tyre didn't come up until a few days later. Ouch. Found out some time later with the car on a hoist that the rear rim is also bent, the tyre shop missed that.
