The coin holder lid button in the center console of my 2013 XF is jammed! I can open the compartment by slipping a precision screwdriver into the slot where the button is jammed, but would like to fix this issue. Has anyone seen or heard of this? Will I need to replace the whole thing, or can this be repaired easily? Let me know your thoughts.

I was a Cadillac tech, the problem is not specific to your car. Saw it happen many times. If you can take your time and get the lid open without breaking anything, you might be able to save it. If not, the plastic pieces inside the unit either are already broken or will be broken when trying to open it. If that's the case you need a new coin holder unit.

 

You should still be in warranty. Take it to the dealer!
