Default My 2010 Premium - one year reliability report

I,m coming up on 1 year - first (free) service in 2 weeks, car has 13,500mi. I leased the car on May 29, 2010.
This report is only for the 'issues' had with the car.
I had 4 minor warranty related visits to the dealer:
1) One rear plate light hanging out - replaced. This was from first day - so should have been picked up at PDI.
2)Left wiper arm making strange noise (sometimes, could not duplicate at dealer). Also rattle from sunroof area. Dealer found wiper motor was 'a little loose'. Dealer changed sunroof rubber seal. Both problems solved.
3)Rattles from right side of roof. Dealer retorqued sunroof and reinsulate headliner and reinstall with new clips. It's better now but not perfect.
4)Rattle from front of windshield. Dealer replaced the windshield plastic cowl. (I think it was damaged during previousl visit for the wiper motor). It's much better , but not perfect.

4 visits is a lot in my experience - coming from 3 Infinitis in the last 17 years. But these are all minor things (if annoying), and the Jag dealer is only 5 miles from my house, so is very convenient to drop it and take a loaner.

This car is great, and I will probably get the XF Supercharged in 2 years when my lease is up.

I, too, have a 2010 Xf Premium, but I took delivery nearly year earlier. I must admit that your issues are mostly quite different to mine. For the record:

1. Rattle rear driver side door (intermittent, not fixed).
2. Creaking and rattling roof console (put your finger on it and it stops). (Intermittent, not fixed).
3. Both sides rear stop lights and tail lights assemblies replaced due to leds/bulbs not working. (fixed)
4. Under fascia on passenger side, fell down and had to be refixed. (fixed)
5. Faulty driver side wiper assembly (fixed).
6. Center console rattle. (not fixed).

Nothing serious but a lot of irritating problems.

Just been hit by debris falling off a truck on I 35 and broke the headlight glass. Replacement cost $1124 + labour!! Not cheap, but covered by insurance. No way to get recompense from truck driver who never even noticed and continued to spray debris all over the road. License obscured by dirt etc.

So quite a 1 year 9 months of Jag XF operation!!

Default XF Premium Reliability

Just completed 1 year, 15,000 miles, with a 2011 XF Premium and have the following to report:
1. Windshield washers not working due to disconnected hose under cowling on passenger side......fixed it my self.
2. Low speed scraping sound coming from driver front....low brake pad warning
wire not secured and rubbing on wheel......fixed it my self.

No other issues to report......everything working exceptionally well !

Lastly I found the HID headlights, although more than adequate, uitilized the 4300K bulbs and replaced them with PhilipsUltinon 6000K bulbs for a brighter white.....remarkable difference. Why Jaguar doesn't fit these as OEM in this type of car is beyond me.

I believe it's because 4300k is the optimum color temperature for visible lighting with this technology. 6000k looks whiter, brighter because it's more blue, but especially at night (when you use/need them, of course), 4300k delivers more usable, visible light. This is especially true the older you get. 6000k lights have a cooler (excuse the pun) look, but 4300k is more useful. I don't have a reference article handy but if you do a Google search for 4300k vs 6000k you will see a number of threads on this topic, all reaching the same conclusion.
