Default Parking pawl noise?

I had the 30K service on my 2012 XF done a few weeks ago (at 27K miles, 40 months).

I have recently noticed a light "tap" from under the center/rear of the car when I shift into park. The noise does not appear related to the parking brake or moving the transmission to other gears. The 30K service includes flushing the brake lines, but I can't figure a relationship to the brakes.

Anybody noticed this? Normal? Potential problem?

I plan to call the dealer about it soon, but I don't have time right now to take it in (unless it's serious).

Thanks for any comments.

Well, hot dog!, it's not my imagination.

Thanks for the confirmation and reassurance. Car is freshly detailed and rain and holidays are coming - I'll schedule this fix in January.

My 4.2 Supercharged does the same thing. I noticed the bulletin is only good for the 5.0. Is the fix the same thing?

It may be...But I don't know if the TCM and transmission model is the same in the 4.2...I would call the dealer to find out..reference the TSB number I provided and they should be able to go from there...Also have your VIN handy.
