So ever since I purchased the car I have been dealing with an annoying noise coming from the passenger door/dash side. Took it to the dealership several times and they tried different things. In fact the car was just sent out to the body shop for a TSB on a door adjustment. Needless to say the noise is still present.

So I took matters into my own hands and did some investigation. Bottom line is that the door trim is coming in contact with the dashboard which I believe is causing the noise. So I placed a microfiber towel between the two and BOOM the noise is gone. I have an email into the dealership but has anyone else dealt with a similar situation? Take a little talcum powder and lightly wipe it on each side.

 

you know i've had the same issue and tried the towel. it worked. someone else try the talcum powder and let me know how it goes...

 

There is a special lubricant from 3M for this, leaves an invisible film. Unfortunately I cannot remember the product name but search their pages and you will eventually find it. IIRC Jaguar has issues a TSB on the matter.
