Default Please help! Tire pressure sensor

I went to the tire shop today to change my tires. I got new ones on them but before that the mechanic was trying to take off the cap where the air is pumped through. This did not work as the cap had ceased which ended in the threads breaking off with the cap on it. So tire pressure sensor is broken and I was wondering If I can just put a cheap after market tire pressure sensor on? Please tell me where I can find one and for cheap! thank you very much! 2010 jaguar xf 5.0 v8 tire pressure sensor (315mHZ)

Are the sensors programmed to the car?

I ask because I want to swap wheels between my 2 XF's.

When I bought my aftermarket wheels, I bought new TPMS for $50 each from getyourwheels.com. My local tire shop installed and programmed them.

I thought RockAuto is a forum sponsor but they are not in the vendor directory. They are others there they may carry TPMS.

Probably metal valve caps have been used. Not permitted by Jaguar.

Replacement TPMS are brand specific and don't buy cheap ones they'll drive you crazy with faults. Jaguar installs a new style of TMPS which is higher quality and stronger.

Also, make sure your installer knows how to install these properly, they take very low torque and if over torqued they can leak or fail completely.

NEVER fit metal valve caps, always use plastic.
