A Poll on Common 2010 XF 5L V8 NA & XFR Defects and Issues.
This Poll is to assist me and others on confirming the common defects and issues on the XF 2010 5L V8 and the XFR.
In order to better identify issues which should be looked out for when purchasing second hand. I have searched through to past posts, to come up with the (I think) common issues associated with this year and model. Please see below for some back ground on these issues and cures. Also the reliability thread. This poll, what ever the outcome, is for the 2010 XF 5L and 2010 XFR. as these are what I am interested in. It does not include facelift, or the 2008/09 XF with their known issues, the smaller engined 3.0L Gas or the Diesel burners. With all these added to the poll, it would be meaningless, and cluttered with none relevant info for what I or any other individual would be looking for. I.e factual and relevant information of model specify issues and comanality. |

Then I suggest you do your own poll, with what ever name you want, with which ever model type takes your fancy.

I might also ask the Moderators to remove all of the other recent redundant posts on this subject..

Why only 2010. A pole for each year would give a lot of info and what was sorted out each year by Jaguar.

The torsion isolator is an Eaton issue and unless Jaguar or Eaton redesign it the problem will continue to be an issue. Chevy eventually said it was a problem and I think they fixed it on the CTS-V a few years ago. The 14 and 15 cars do not have enough time on them to exhibit any of the above problems not to mention there does not appear to be many 14 and 15 owners that post regularly on the forum. |
Yes it would but what would be the common issues to vote on.

You would have to research what you think are the common issues for the year, and for that matter the model you are interested in and word the options accordingly. cutting and pasting these questions/options for each year model may not work as expected, because perhaps, these issues are not that common for other years models. etc etc. |
No.9 Other major issues during ownership not covered by the above.
Gents,
If you feel you have to vote for option No.9, "Other major issues during ownership not covered by the above." Could you please add some info on what this issue was, as it could be a common issue not clearly identified in the poll results, options question. Thanks to all 2010 XF 5L and XFR owners who have responded so far. |
