hey guys i have a 2011 jaguar xf 5.0 supercharged and wanted to see if anyone tried these and if they're legit and if they are which one would should i get. Or if anyone has any suggestions?
There are several companies which sell tunes for the JLR 5.0 V8 SC that you load onto the car yourself using a held held device, usually a Kess 2 or similar.
Off the top of my head they include Viezu, Eurocharged, Eurotoys and Velocity AP.
All of these are reputable companies with a history of providing effective and reliable tunes.
All of them also sell smaller supercharger drive pulleys (the upper/snout pulley) and larger crank/lower pulleys, with associated tunes.
They generally charge around the US $1,000 mark for a tune only then another $500 - $1,000 for a modified upper or lower pulley and associated tune.
I have a Eurotoys lower pulley and Velocity AP tune on my F-Type V6 (very similar engine to the 5.0 V8), total cost around $2,000 AU, and it is definitely a very good "bang for your buck".
Installing the tune yourself is very easy, the hand-held device simply plugs into the OBD2 port and then you follow the on-screen instructions.
But you need to make sure you have a reasonably powerful battery charger/tender hooked up when you do it, preferably 30 amp plus, as the ECU must be kept at at least 12.6 volts at all times during the process otherwise you risk bricking it.
