Default Dynamic mode

So what exactly does the dynamic mode do? The descriptions in the manual and from the sales reps are all very vague. The car seems to corner better with less body roll; but the smoothness (or lack of) of the ride doesn't seem to change. The gear shift points don't seem to change either. I am kind of wondering what is the point of having the 2 modes; it works fine just being in the dynamic mode all the time.

As I understand it, the dynamic mode makes the throttle more responsive and the shift points are held until to a higher rpm. The car also responds to the driving style more readily. If you are really pushing the car aggressively, it responds by acting more like a race car.

That little button ( see MotorTread 01-2011-if I remember correctly) ran the XJL 470hp a flat 4.0 sec to 60mph that made the Jag #1 in speed, in that test of top 10 cars of year. (Jag ranked #2 overall)
When I hit dynamic I can really feel the difference.
But - don't take me for my word, just watch the arrow on the fuel gauge go down, and if you really want to see the little arrow move- Hit the dynamic button while your in Sports Mode.

If you do this -----> Becareful of 1st gear. You'll have to go into 2nd very-very FAST. Pay no attention to the smoke-its just the tires.

~GOOD LUCK~

I believe XJ SC dynamic mode reduces body roll to almost nil; not sure if it is that effective in XJ.
