Default 05 super v8 cd changer

tried he changer for the first time today... and no sound. the screen indicated discs and actualy showed one playing on the counter. also I could not select other discs. previous owner seemed to have some other input wires going on around the center console. there is an ipod wire in the arrest and another aux cable tucked next to the seat he probably had somebody do. does it sound like the changer is bypassed or something? is there a way to check?

There's a switch on the box in the glovebox. It has RCA inputs on it. With the key out of the ignition flip the switch on the front of the black box. When you start the car the CD changer function will now be active.

so to toggle between the aux inputs and cd changer via the ACM bypass switch , the ignition has to be off? this could explain much of what I experiencing, but that would seem ridiculous... but then again the dvd player in trunk is ridiculous too.

It doesn't have to be off to make the switch, but the module setting change won't take place until the car is restarted. I had the exact same situation when I first got my car.

one last question. the manual says when disc 6 is selected, the ipod menu is supposed to become active and I assume appear on the cars screen. this is not happening. should the ipod itself be configured a certain way before plugging in?
