2004 xjr no response from key turning (won't start)
So i got into an accident today in my 04 xjr. THere are a lot of deer in my area and one popped up around a blind turn, so avoiding hitting the deer, i ended up hitting a light pole. The damage is on the front end and the drivers side fender. Air suspension is out and completely flat but almost certain that the cause is the air compressor, and now Car won't start. It will not attempt to crank, when i flip the key to cranking position, it does nothing. I am really hoping there is an inertia switch somewhere on these cars and that is the problem. The code i am getting is reading ignition failure. Anybody heard of this before? I thought it was a security feature, I tried locking/unlocking doors from the outside, that didn't do much. Really want to fix all the mechanicals myself and then get it over to the shop for the body work asap. ANy help is appreciated. Thanks!
According to my UK owners manual:
The inertia switch is located behind the trim on the left-hand side of the vehicle, forward of the front door post, below the fascia. A finger access hole in the trim allows the driver to reset the switch.

Hey U102, thanks for the inertia switch info, unfortunately i reset it and still didn't do anything.
Cadillac, thanks for the kind words. Thankfully, i wasn't physically hurt, but did suffer emotional pain after seeing my baby like this

Any lights up on the dash when you turn the ign. on? If not check fuses.
If the dash lights up check supply (fuses) to starter motor.
Check wiring in damaged area for severed wires.

You need to check electric supply to engine-related components, and this mostly means the fuses. Also write down a list of what works and what doesn't then relate it to fuses. Check you have done inertia reset correctly. An AVO metre should show nil resistance between the two electrical contacts.
