2005 XJ8L cylinder firing diagram

I would appreciate any help in determining cylinder #7 so I can install a new coil pack. The error codes seem to indicate a misfire on that cylinder.

See post #2 here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...j8-4-2l-75948/

Cylinder 7 is the rear-most cylinder on the right side bank .

According to the Training Guide:
"The engine cylinders are numbered 1,3,5,7 on the right hand bank and 2,4,6,8 on the
left hand bank. The cylinders are numbered using the driveplate as a datum point,
number one cylinder being the furthest away from the driveplate and number two
cylinder the next furthest away from the driveplate and so on ....."

So that makes #7 at the back on the LEFT when viewing from the front of the car.

Thank you both for your help.

Replaced the coil pack and the problem was solved. The P2097 code persisted for about 50 miles, but after clearing it again - it stayed off as the excess fuel was burned out of the catalytic converter.
