Lets hear from our members who have used after mkt. rebuilt air shocks from sources such as Arnott Industries or others.

I'm in the process of pulling together the tools and parts necessary to replace the front air spring/shocks on my 05 XJR. There is a pant load of money to be saved using rebuilds but I want only quality stuff going into my car. I've seen posts, contained herein, praising the new and rebuilt air compressors available on the aftermkt, but nothing regarding the air springs.

Give us all some insite on this issue guys.

Tarheal,

Good thread you've started here. I've not used rebuilts, but I'd be interested in what comes up from this post.

I've purchased air compressors from Arnott and they're a good reliable source.

Rebuilt Air Shocks Arnott industries
I recently installed a rebuilt shock to my front right corner of my 04 XJR. Seems to work well!! I have yet to put many miles on the unit as I am out of state for work. I will return home in 2 days and will get back into daily use of my car. I guarantee I am as hard on it as anyone ever could be (See my video's in my signature). I will inform if I have any issues. In my opinion WELL worth the investment!! Thank You Arnott!

I just got done putting in 2 arnots. They dont have the lower bellows, or the aluminum casing around the air spring. But what do you expect for $300 ea

Wow. that's a bit disappointing. They go on only one car and that car has those parts you mention. I'd much rather pay an extra hundred and have complete units than have to scavenger-hunt down the miscellaneous bits.

Great thread, I hope to read more on this important topic.

Can the air spring system be totally removed?

Have not heard of an after mkt. system to replace the air shocks as yet. But I have noted a trend of acceptance amoung indie Jag service providers for the rebuilds from Arnott.

My Jag shop will install them as provided from their stock or customer provided. No warr. on customer provided items, of course. I'm lucky, as Arnott is only an hours drive from me, comes the day I need them, which as we all know is only a question of time.
