Default Best All-Around 2007 XJR Tire

I will need to replace my 20" tires on my 2007 XJR soon. What is the consensus on the Forum as to the best all-around tire? I don't want to pay $400 a piece, but I want a quiet, soft riding tire that wears well. I've used Yokohama on my 2001 XJ8 and have been rather satisfied. Don't know about their 20". Any first hand experience on this topic would be appreciated.

You are not going to get an optimal soft soft ride on 20" wheels with any tire you select but if you strike for the best ride you can get-- go for an all season tire and avoid Summer High Performance tires. The fact that you are in South Fl is duly noted.

The big problem with 19 and 20" tires of any spec is tire roar. Minimize this buy careful attention to rotation, balance and alignment. Uneven ware is the enemy.

Most authoritative sources rate the Michelin as best in all categories. But they are quite expensive. Don't know if they are avail in your size but they probably are.

I would not pay too much attention to the cacophony of voices touting specific brand names as you can get any subjective rating you want to here on this subject. Stick with top brand names and keep in mind that you are not going to be a NASCAR driver and you should come out okay.

My car came fitted with 20" Yokohama Advan Sports. I have no complaints about them and would buy them again if they are not too expensive.

Hankook Ventus V12 or V4. Good tires at a reasonable cost. 19 & 20" tires are going to cost more and some tire shops are not equipped to install them.
