Hello, All! I’m new to Jaguar Forums and this is the inaugural of what will hopefully be many posts.

I live in São Paulo, Brazil, and recently purchased a 2004 XJ Super V8 with 80,000km and in nearly perfect condition. As is unfortunately required here, the car is bulletproof - having been bulletproofed upon initial purchase from the dealer.

Whilst I have not yet had the opportunity to undertake any close and careful inspection, I thought to see if anyone here has experience with bulletproof X350s and, if so, whether there are any common issues that one may encounter as a result of “bulletproof-ing”.

I have a feeling that the front and back parking sensors may have been affected, but I’ll need to investigate this.

Any thoughts / experience would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks in advance!

Richard

It is likely to be significantly heavier so will use more fuel. Here in the UK our Prime Minister uses one. Used to use one. The Government now have the current models some of which are believed to be armoured.

We have said many areas of the X350 seem to be bulletproof, but this brings new meaning to the term.

Common issues in a not so common Jaguar??????
More gas, not as fast, with shorter tire, brake, & suspension parts life span.
Should be very quiet inside, an already quiet interior.

Good point! Thanks for the thoughts - I’ll have to get the tires and brakes checked! I just had suspension checked and new parts installed. You’re right as to the quiet interior - super quiet!

How about some pics. The doors/glass should be interesting.

I’ll take some and post them over the weekend. The glass is nearly 2cm thick ... I’m hoping that it will never be necessary ...
