Crash safety info?

In searching for crash safety info on the X350, I only unearthed this old thread which appears to be a full frontal head-on crash. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ome-car-49237/

I was wondering if anyone might have data, official or empirical, on small-overlap and side crashes. Overall, I feel very safe driving this car. :icon_clapclap:

In recall reading or perhaps on a motortrend review , the x350 was never crashed tested.

None of the high end cars are. I don't think anyone wants to fork out the bucks just to destroy it on the low volume sellers.

Absolutely was crash tested both frontal, side, rear and rollover to meet Federal and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Many subcomponents were also crash tested in a simulated way e.g steering wheel/column loading onto the chest of an anthropometric dummy. NA regulatory regime is different to Europe and e.g Japan. NA is self certification with NHTSA auditing Jaguars' results but Europe operates a type approval system where testing has to be conducted or witnessed by Government inspectors.

Some of these test reports can be extracted from government databases but its difficult to find them. They may be accessible under a FOIA request.

Found the review on youtube. Around 2:30 mins narrator mentions no crash test for US.

It certainly does look like no tests or ratings are verifiable.

I realize nobody crash tests expensive cars, so I found more empirical data below:

I completely trust Jaguar with my life.
I completely trust my wife with my life.

Oddly enough, I don't trust my wife with my Jaguar though.

I trust my wife with my Jaguar.
My wife doesn't trust me with her Honda Civic.

Go figure.

Type Approval

All new cars used in Europe including the UK including imported cars are crash tested with head on, side impact, and other crashes for them to receive Type Approval and be allowed on the road. So yes your Jag has been crash tested and passed don't worry. Regards Keith
