Hi all,

Newbie MB/Bimmer/Porsche enthusiast here looking at 05 and 07 XJRs(a comfy car that's not so common).

Can anyone tell me if HID(Xenon) headlights are optional or standard on these years?
Also, slight HP difference but is 07 any better than the 05? Both have similar mileage, though one has wood/leather steering wheel vs. just leather...aren't these XJRs pretty fully loaded?

Go for the 07 condition and price being equal. The 2006 and up models have part revisions and I believe the glass is thicker so its a little quitter. I believe all XJRs had HID. I think only the xj8s had halogens.

Where can I find the differences between the two that you mentioned, and how frequently do the cars come with wood on steering wheel versus all leather?

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if the steering wheel being wooden/leather combo was a standard or if that was optional as I'm seeing most have it, but not all XJRs?
Also, importantly, I've noticed some XJs do NOT have the Jaguar emblem on the hood...is that de-badged like some MB owners do and swapping to flat emblem?

I believe all XJR's came with leather wheels and were optioned to have wood. And I think the emblems on the hood were made flat around 2008 for safety purposes for pedestrians.
