Well when I got home tonight, I noticed the left rear maker light was not on. Can anyone tell me how to get at the bulb to replace it?

Side marker or tail lamp? I usually pull the whole sidemarker lamp assembly out with a plastic prybar because the electrical connector is almost always corroded beyond use and needs replacing along with the bulb. I am in the snowy heavily salted north so a Texas car may not have those concerns. Maybe Brutal could advise.

 

It's the side marker RT (just behind the wheel opening). I'll take another look tomorrow in the daylight. Your description sounds like it is much simpler than I originally thought.

 

I think if you slide the light up and then out it will pop out. The springs are on the top of the case. I'm you could have corrosion in the socket. I have 3 of these( 1 front and 2 rear) that are this way. I don't know how much the socket is but I'll find out soon enough.
