Evidently the backup sensors on my XJ8L are real touchy. Right after the last snowstorm they beeped continuously as soon as I put the car in reverse. Since there wasn't anyone or thing behind me I went to check out the sensors. There was a fine coating of salt which appeared to be the culprit. I had to clean the sensors with some windex before they would stop whining. Too bad I couldn't do the same thing to my wife.

 

Your wife would probably stop whining, but she may start screaming. Pick your poison.
