XJ 2.7 2005 cranks but wont start immobilizer ?
Hi
all just bought a nice XJ 2.7 TDVI,
drove it home now wont start (over night) tried 6 times - started shut down now not starting....
my initial thought was the immobilizer ..
looking through the mountain of dealer history and this years Non dealer history this has been an issue for a few months.
(I missed this invoice tucked away ) the car intermittently wont start ... lock then unlock car works or just coincidence ???
The car has had the following work carried out :-
Fuel system has been flushed new filters new in-tank fuel pump
I guess the are fed up and sold it on sadly as it is a nice car ..
error codes :-
E8 P0A94 DC/DC converter performance
P062D Fuel Injector Driver Circuit Performance (bank 1)
P062E Fuel Injector Driver Circuit Performance (bank 2)
tried a hard reset. cycled the locking and car starts and fuel faults reset themselves ... however short lived failed to start after shutdown need to exit the car and cycle the locks and the car then starts ...
any thoughts from any one would be greatly appreciated
regards Paul

I have the same problem, how did you solve the problem?
I think that among the first things I might do would be to check the fuel pressure at the rail (at least 45 PSI to be sure). Also, make sure that the battery connections are clean and snug, and check the earth grounds in the trunk as well. You would also want to monitor the battery voltage while cranking the engine as the voltage shouldn't sink much below 12.0 VDC at all.
