Folks,

Parking sensor questions have been asked to destruction, but I promise (sort of?) this is not one of them

Front: So; dealing with the usual parking aid issues; looked up the fault codes, replaced the outer right front sensor, and everything now works like a champ.

Rear: not so much luck(ish). Replaced the faulty sensor, system worked once, then back to the dredded long beep.

Resistance Checks: replacement parts pin 1 - 2: 10KΩ. Existing Jaguar OEM parts: open circuit on every single rear sensor. Reading with a bench ohmmeter, resistance is about 1.1MΩ

My replacement part is the SNG Barratt (C2C29376XXX*) states: Front/Rear Parking sensor.

Looking up the Jag EPC, I have two part numbers listed: Front: C2C29376XXX Rear: C2C29377XXX

My question: are all sensors, front/rear the same ? and if they weren't, why would SNG sell their replacement as front/rear sensor?

Thanks in advance.

AFIK all sensors are the same except one no you quoted is straight and the other part no is 90 degrees.

Google the no's in Images to see them

Thanks a lot for your reply @meirion1.

Yes, you're right: the apparent difference is the 90 deg. vs straight connector. I was just a bit sceptical when reading the resistance values, but comforted by the listing on SNG's and the EPC's entries, listing the same sensor as front and rear.

Ah well; looks like another SNG order to get two extra sensors - I have two new ones already.

Thanks again.

BTW
To get rid of the beeping pro tem pull a fuse in the cabin box.

Check your OM for fuses ie which one.

Bought my Jag in Mill Hill about 16 years ago!

The PAM stores DTCs I suggest you use them.

ohmeter = not a reliable diag tool. passing a resistance test is just that, passing a resistance test it does not mean the part is good
