Hi, my Alpine (stock) radio/cassette (cassette!) Alpine AJ9500A needs a volume/on-ff control switch...( or I guess complete front display board if I have to go that way to keep it "original")..I have removed the original switch but can anyone advise please where I could get a replacement?..I am happy to "modify" a suitable alternative if I am able to use the original knob which I have..
Many thanks,
Peter.

I doubt you can get any 'spare parts' for our radio anymore.

I read a post about these radios a while back that said something to the effect that Alpine doesn't even have reference repair documentation for them anymore.

I see them pop up on eBay used all the time, but they are usually pretty pricey in my opinion... usually $100-150 or more for a unit of unknown functionality.

But I pulled one from a pick-pull salvage yard a few weeks ago and paid about $15 for it since it was a cassette unit.

So either eBay or a salvage yard are probably your best options for spare parts.

For other repair issues, just do a search here for "radio" and you'll find loads of threads on the subject. Seems like we get a new thread every couple weeks as these units are effectively defective from the manufacturer.

The easy fix for some (all?) of the issues seem to likely be related to cold solders on the boards.

If you need the actual switch, I can probably help. I have a dead radio from my donor car and just recently sent another member the black knob that goes on to the switch. Send me a pm with an address and clarification and I'll pop it in the post. It will take a week before I can send it as I'm working away from home at the moment.

Yes please..!!
Hi sogood, I cannot PM you yet as I have not posted enough, so do hope you get this ok. Yes please to the switch or display board (whichever is easier for you)..but as I am in New Zealand I will need to pay shipping plus cost of the part. I am not sure if I can supply my email to you at this stage for payment & address etc., perhaps a moderator can advise?
Many thanks again, that will get the old radio "up and running" again.
Cheers!
Peter.

Hi there, you can email me e32fan@yahoo.com if that helps. The postage for the switch should only be a few euros so don't worry about that. Maybe just give a few dollars to a worthwhile charity of your choice? I'll leave it up to you.

Anyway, drop me a line with the necessary details.
