The 17" wheels on the '97 XJR I just picked up will need refinishing to be mint..

I'm thinking about replacing them with this 18" style, which I like better..
(sorta 'panasportish' look to them)




Looks like the bolt pattern is correct, but is there an offset issue?

I can't say about the offset for certain, but I have seen X300s with those wheels fitted.

I don't know if I'd want to go to 18" wheels though, considering increased weight, ride harshness and tire cost.

It seems like the X300 XJR wheels are pretty polarizing. People either seem to love them or hate them. I love them personally, as they are really quite distinct and classy when they are cleaned up.

Heck, I suspect most don't even realize that the X300 XJR wheels aren't solid silver, and actually have a light 'champagne' gold color around the center hub and inside the cutouts. Most I see are faded, but on wheels that aren't faded and have been polished up... the X300 XJR wheels look very sharp.

Two of my gray center caps on mine are broken. I have a single green fitted to see which I like better. The overall exterior color of the car is 'Titanium' so the gray centers do match. But the trunk button is green, and green seems attractive too. I may be getting a new shift knob with the green growler emblem, soooo.....

I've got to get new tires too. I'm thinking of getting the new Pirelli P7 tires which are getting great reviews and are much higher mileage, but I'll have to go to a 245-50/17 (P7 not available in 255-45/17) which is actually the XKE tire size on an equivalent wheel in 1997. So that might actually work out pretty well as there is only about a 2% difference in size, which may help with highway MPG a bit anyway.
