update on my gearbox drivetrains issue.
so when decelerating its making a grinding/scraping noise from bell housing area.
and when putting into any gear its making a screeching sound like a something isn't grabbing properly. it also free wheels when decelerating in D.
1995 jaguar sovereign 4.0 automatic.
gearbox oil is nice and pink smells sweet and perfect level. filter was changed 10,000kms ago sounds like torque convertor or flywheel??

Torque converter would be my guess, although I suppose it could be something in the box not producing sufficient pressure for the torque converter to function correctly. You have used the correct fluid spec?
None of it sounds like much fun I'm afraid.

An update it only happens on startup ot does a quick loud whizzing sound and when selecting park or neutral if i slowly give it some throttle no noise if i pump the accelerator it whizzes maybe coz when i pump it the engine actually twists more so could the twisting cause this noise if was torque convertor would it do tjis
sounds like flexplate rubbing now has another issue when coasting at 20kmh no brake wheels rear all of a sudden lock up big time then free then lock up again all by themselves and big clunk when happens once touch accelerator goes away again
