Default 96 X300 XJ6 Auto AC stopped working

The regular AC still works. If I turn the Auto AC on it stays on for a second and then switches back to regular AC. I am guessing this is NOT an electrical issue. The air blowing is still cold but not as cold as before. The engine temperature is still normal.

need to check the compressor still engages. Ask someone to turn it off/on etc and check if the compressor engages, i.e. the centre of the pulley on the A/C comp starts/stops.

I just replaced all mine and what a pig of a job due to corrosion.

I'm taking it to a Jaguar service place tomorrow. I'll report what they say.

They added Freon. Or whatever is used in car AC's these days. It blows a lot colder but the auto AC function still shut off. The regular AC stays on and is cold.

Do you if the repair place (or have you) ran a climate control self test?

It sounds like there is something not connecting in order for it run automatic, like temperature sensors?

If so, that would be spelled out by the self test.

I think this contains a recent thread for the self-test
