Fuel pump recomendation

Hi everyone,

Getting ready to replace the fuel pump in my 95 X300. Right now looking on Partstrain at Denso pump for 102.13 or Beck Arney for 130.12. Would like your opinion as to which one, or another recomendation or either is fine.

Thanks guys.

Even so, I always copy the part number and paste into Amazon and often as not, can find the same thing for even less. Rock will kill you on shipping if you are not careful. One item not usually too bad, but get a handful of smaller things that are all coming from different warehouses and you can just stand by!

The engine management is DENSO.
I'm sure a Denso replacement pump will operate correctly.

Thanks Bob,

Now about the Rochester valve. Mine is white plastic on top of the tank. All that I see in the parts store are metal and don't look like they would fit where the OE one fits. Any suggestions where to get the right one?

Thanks Bob. Next time I'm through Decater I'm going to stop in and say thands again.

Thanks Zane,

I just ordered the Denso from Amazon for $79.51. Now for the same question I just asked Bob. Any ideas on the Rochester pressure valve. Mine is white plastic and sits on top of the tank. All I see at the parts houses are metal and don't look like they would fit. Any ideas?

Thanks again.

It was my understanding the rochester valve is underneath the car. I've yet to get mine up and look at it to confirm but I will be replacing mine soon.

aholbro1 08-11-2014 08:09 PM

Absolutely no clue, EZ. Isn't that the component that is somehow involved when people's fuel tank collapses on itself? Mine appears to be working and I'm leaving it be!

The large white plastic 'thing' on the top/center of the fuel tank is the EVAP FLANGE.

The Rochester valve should be under the car between the carbon canisters and the engine connected by hoses/pipes.

Bob, what does the evap flange do. And does it need to be replaced when I do the pump?

Thanks Bob

Hi Bob,

My understanding is that the Evaporative Loss Flange provides the hose fittings for the Evaporative Emissions System hoses that route vapors from the fuel tank to the carbon canister(s) and maintain the correct pressures in the EVAP system, and that the Flange also contains a fuel check valve or non-return valve that prevents the pressure developed by the fuel pump from leaking back into the fuel tank, to work in conjunction with the Fuel Pressure Regulator to maintain the correct pressure in the fuel rail.

As far as I am aware, the Evap Flange has not been available from Jaguar for many years, so unless yours is cracked or otherwise damaged, you should just handle it carefully and reuse it.

When Bob Gauff gets a chance to respond, he can either confirm or correct my understanding!

Cheers,

Don

Don B
Mostly correct but there is no liquid fuel in the EVAP FLANGE.

Only 3 reasons to replace that I can think of.............

Physically cracked/broken.
Internal vapor valves stuck/damaged.
Electrical connector melted/damaged.

Thanks Bob. I'll be very careful with the white plastic thingy.
