Hi all,

I was able to open a stuck trunk using a snake camera and a long screw driver.
The camera I used is ImageŽ Mini 7mm USB Flexible Inspection Camera Microscope Endoscope Borescope [I paid $37.99 on Amazon].

I was able to send the camera in through one of the license plate holes to monitor the screw driver which I maneuvered through another hole.
I have attached a picture indicating the point at which I pushed on.
By pushing at the indicated place, I was able to disengage the latch and open the trunk.

Kind of off topic, but I bought an inexpensive borescope to look for a coolant leak - I can't believe how useful this tool is. Mine requires a computer with its 5-meter usb connection - but use a piece of 10 or 12 gu wire to guide it around and it's a job done for under $20.

I have the same problem, I drilled a couple holes and can see and get the part in the pic, I can move it to the right with a screw driver but it doesn't open the trunk still! Now what? I'm ready to use the sludge hammer! Pete

See my note from 7th March last year. If the operating rods are adrift, nothing will happen!! I found that drilling the one inch diameter hole gave sufficient access to get at everything. Then you need a blanking grommet to close the hole afterwards.
