Some time back I submitted a post regarding the fact that I suspected that there probably weren't two or more identical Jaguar x300's in existence, given the amount of variation in models and spec, some extras being ordered by the original purchaser. Further to that, I saw an ad recently in Jaguar world monthly, for a 1997 xj6 3.2 Sovereign that stated it was a rare example of one of only 2,322 models fitted with a 3.2 litre engine. Now I have a 1997 xj6 x300 Jaguar sovereign 3.2, so does that mean it is a little bit rare? It is an original Irish car (where I live) and has much of the whistles and bells, ie. Cruise control, aircon, sun roof, wooden steering wheel and gear knob, though somewhere else I read that this is what is regarded as the Executive Spec. Confused and curious!! As to the questions, I have no lights whatsoever in the instrument panel, ie. Speedo, tacho, fuel and temp gagues etc. Is there a fuse that might be gone and if so where is it? Could the little rotating switch on the steering column be the culprit? Shorting it out can be a solution but how do you get the switch out? Any little tricks? And how do you remove the switch packs on the doors, specifically drivers side? The little sliding selector switch for selecting the mirror to be adjusted is stuck in the centre/off position and has to be held in place for the relevant mirror, left/right, needing two hands and the fingers of a midwife! Any help much appreciated.
