62 going on 30 when in the jag

Maraud 11-26-2012 05:35 AM

29, feeling 60 sometimes when driving the jag ;-)

carzaddict 11-26-2012 11:07 AM

im 25.....got my first Jag when I was 18.....ive had about 6 Jags in total in the past 7 years.

ive been driving XJ's primarily....had an XK and XF at one point.....its interesting seeing the looks on peoples faces when they see a young guy getting out of this big lavish XJ. The funnier part is when Im driving around in gym shorts and flipflops....looking like a total bum

JaguXJR 11-27-2012 03:06 AM

i was 33 when i bought my first jaguar 6 months ago. after the amount of work required to keep her going i am now 107 :D

Olsic03STR 11-27-2012 01:39 PM

27 and counting...

RJ237 11-27-2012 02:33 PM

I ignored this thread until today, and was amazed by how many young drivers are on this forum. I'm 72 and the two Jags I have now are the first I have owned since the MK II over 40 yrs. ago.

Brent 11-28-2012 04:32 AM

AGELESS in the Cat

I always had a Jag when I could. From the beautiful 3.8 MkII, up through the "S" type through the incredible "E" types. Then I left England and Jags were a thing of the past, or way too expensive(import taxes, customs etc) But now I have the x300 XJ6 and I am so happy again to have a cat again. There is just something about them that makes you love them, even with all the problems that come up,it just does not seem to matter once she is purring along again.

JaguXJR 11-28-2012 06:17 AM

i had an argument with one of the boys who said big cats were grandad cars. he changed his mind after my 4 litre supercharged rocking chair slaughtered his hairdressers z3. happy days :D

Niko 383 11-28-2012 06:26 AM

Im 18 and recently finished building my xj6 series 1 slightly modified with a 383 chev under the hood :icon_wink:

33... love my Jag..always have been a car enthusiast. My 96 XJ6 is my favorite so far out of about 20 new and used cars I've owned.

SleekJag12 12-02-2012 04:27 AM

I'm 48, started at 43 with the 96 XJ6. Love 'em! Can't get enough of 'em! Ageless appeal as shown here!

bliving7 12-03-2012 02:07 PM

I'm 65 but bought my first new XJ6 in 1982 after having a dream that I should buy one. I drove it until 1995 at which time I bought the new model and gave my high school age son the 1982. He drove it through high school, college, and med school. But his residency was in Rochester, N.Y. so I got the 1982 back for five years. When he got out of residency he moved to Birmingham, Al. and he got the car back. I still was driving my 1995. I had also bought a 2003 XJ and didn't like it as much as my 1995 so I sold it and kept my '95. The 1995 XJ now has 220K miles on it. Also bought a 1996 XJS in 2007 but soon discovered it to be more of a young man's car. Gave that car to my son as well. He still has it but also has a 2003 XJ VP so I guess he's hooked on Jags as his old man is. Recently I bought a 1996 XJ VP as it had only 98K miles on it and had been well taken care of. I still have my 1995. They are probably my terminal cars. The new Jags do nothing for me. So bottom line is that I have been driving Jags for thirty years starting when I was 35.

Your son is a lucky guy! You two seem to be fond of the 90's vintage Jags as am I. Maybe you'll move onto the X308 cars next as I plan to. It may end with that model, however.

jagdayn 12-03-2012 09:58 PM

im 26. the looks i get from the older women are especially interesting. ;)

jagclaude 12-04-2012 06:54 AM

A Jaguar with a chevy engine should be banned from this forjum

38 years young here and this is my first Jag, but I have had a fairly secret lust for them since about 1998. Bought this 2001 as a Graduation present for the wife (who is 44). It was serendipity. Hmm, maybe I should use that as her nick-name.

Sidney 12-04-2012 02:16 PM

40

Bought my 83 XJ6 at 37, at 39 got my X300 and at 40 my LR3, i think my neighbours don't like me too much.
I still have them all, my winter car is an 87 Benz 300E:icon_oldskewl:

Vitamin C 04-22-2013 12:00 PM

I am 28. At a red light last week, I heard a girl in another car remark to her friends that I was driving "daddy's car".

My dad has a Ford Focus that is technically worth more than what I paid for the Jag. :D

AL NZ 04-22-2013 12:39 PM

I'm 44
Looking forward to getting my X300 back today or tomorrow with its front suspension rebuilt.
I have the bug .. checking out XJRs and V12 saloons now.. this could require some medicine

prestone08 04-22-2013 03:39 PM

23 and do all my own car repair, just wanted something more classy. also a great deal at 1500$.

Especially considering my primary car is a 97 geo tracker 4dr LSi LOL
which is DRIPPING in classy. LOL

JohnXJR6 04-23-2013 06:44 AM

I was 25 when I bought my first Jag, 35 now. I also like sports cars (old and new) and american muscle, but I can only have one (or two) car(s) and Jags seem best all rounders for less money. It feels like the X300 was built for me and I even do the odd trackday in it. That said, I would like an XJS or an XK8 as well!

jagclaude 04-24-2013 07:35 AM

Soon 72 and still loud pedal to the floor

This 1995 VDP XJ6 of mine is my 12 th or maybe 14 th Jag. Can't remember them all. First one was a MK2 thena 150S, then 120 and a 140, a MK10, plus first XJ12 sedan with carbs ! Couple of XJS'. An XJ6 2.8 with manual shift (what a truck that was) then quite a few XJ's I, II and III and 2 XKE (A 6 and a 12 bangers - the most beautiful car ever on earth but even in full snowy winter needed the airco in !)

I fll in Love with Jags going to the UK whan I was 13 the watching le Mans (the real one) the going there a few times in the early 60's but of course at that time I was living in France :-)

And passed the virus to my son as well.

But I must admit I am also an Alfa Romeo nut

So Jag and Alfa's the best of both worlds (although I a Ferrari, maseratis and plenty more).

Let's keep the Jag name live and from disapearing !

I am 24 but I have been around Jags my entire life; from my grandfather who had three XKE's to my immediate family who are on our eighth and this is my second. My father currently has a beautiful 95 X300, my mother has a 03 X-Type, and I just picked up a 95 XJR-6. (pics are in the respective order)

No kidding there. I bought my 95 XJ6 for $500 (plus I swapped out an old '62 327 in my (for 35 yrs) neighbors '31 Vicky, I dropped a 2012 290 HP crate engine w/all the fancy stuff, for $500). He was about to take it to a Jag junkyard in Modesto. They said they would give him $1000 for it.?#*! Long story short, I can drive the Vicky anytime I'd like AND I have a '95 XJ6. Pretty darned happy...
