P1516 -Intake Manifold Runner Control Input Error (Bank 1)

This is the error code P1516 that pops up when my 97 VDP stalls after slowing down rapidly. It appears that the engine slows down soo much that the engine stalls. Any advice for me?

The inlet air control valve should sequence down after a throttle let off to eventually bring the idle speed down to target

There should also be some gradual changes to the amount of fuel charged into the cylinders ( pulse width )

You can test with a meter if you have a bad leg or winding in the IAC step motor

You can try a tank fill injector cleaner to unstick a dragging fuel injector before you take the step of removing them for cleaning ( under fueling )

Does the butterfly return to the idle closed stop without your hand aiding it ?
