Why do I continue to pour money into my 1995 XJ6??
Because I Love the car that's why. I know it's crazy but my XJ6 started dumping oil at a fast rate so I took it into the shop.
I knew about my rear galley oil plug leap but was living with that slow leak.
It was a rear main seal failure. So they removed the transmission and while there fixed the rear oil galley plug with a new o ring and proper torque.
(Apparently it wasn't torqued properly at the factory). Also having the oil pan gasket replaced.
And while its up on the rack having the front end rebuilt. Here's a photo of back of engine
If you don’t mind me asking what did that cost. I eventually will need to do the same thing. Rear seal is leaking just not sure when the “burst” will happen

I can give you the cost but keep in mind I live in Silicon Valley which is a VERY EXPENSIVE area. Everything costs more here. $2,000 was my cost here. Note: my regular Jag mechanic quoted me less but he's 50 miles away!
