I had changed the shocks when I first got this car nine years ago, and it used to be quiet, but over the years became a rattle trap. Here is what I did:
New sway bar end links. These were really shot. Easy and cheap fix.
Tightened the lower shock mounting bolts. These had loosened up quite a bit; I guess I never torqued them correctly.
New radiator support bushings. It would behoove you to replace those radiator bushings if you haven’t; the lower radiator plastic protrusions stick out the hole in the bottom support with the rubber gone, and hitting a curb just the right way will bust you radiator. Radiators are expensive.
The AC condenser bushing were also shot but I cut some electrical grommets I had down and that works OK.
Now there are no rattles at all and so much nicer to drive. She rides like a dream. What a great car this has been.
